Travel Group Reunion

This weekend we are excited about our travel group reunion.  We love to see how the girls have grown.  We are so thankful that Alicia and Juliana make the trip up from South Florida.  It is such a treat to see the girls playing together.  It's like they are old friends and no matter how much time passes between them seeing each other, it's like it was just yesterday.

Another Blog

I read on another blog that someone received their I-800A approval a month and a day after they received the notice that their application was received.  Earlier this week our letter of receipt came.  I was hoping it was our finger printing appointment.  But we could be approved within the month.  That would be awesome!

Once we receive our I-800A approval, I will drive to Atlanta and have 1 notary certified by Fulton County (they said I couldn't mail it to them) then head over to the Secretary of the State's office and have the 12 or 13 remaining documents certified by the state.

Then all these documents will be sent to a courier in Texas to take them for authentication to the Chinese Consulate in Houston, Texas.  I decided to wait and send them all together, to save a little money.  Our marriage certificate is ready to go in to our Dossier (the file about us going to China).

So we wait for our finger prints...not something people usually look forward to.

I -800A Finally in the Mail

I finally made it to the post office today and mailed our I-800A application.  Mark your calendars, it will take about 4-8 weeks to get our approval.

We will need to get fingerprinted, again.  This will be the 3rd time since we started this adoption.  We were fingerprinted when we did all of the paperwork for Sophie as well.  It seems like once someone is fingerprinted it would be in "the system" and that would be enough, they don't change.

We will be notified when and where to get the fingerprints done.  Stay tune...
