We Are Logged In

I received an email from X with our agency that said we were logged in on December 25.  Merry Christmas to us!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope you have had a wonderful day and have enjoyed spending time this Christmas season with family and friends.

We have done Christmas a little differently this year.  Rick and I did not exchange gifts (oh yeah, this adoption is my gift for many occasions).

We have enjoyed seeing Rick's family with a breakfast with his mom and sisters on Saturday, Christmas Eve with my cousins, aunts and uncles, and Grandma, Christmas Breakfast with Nana and Shannon (who came over to watch Sophie come out and see what Santa brought and open her presents from us) and Christmas lunch at Roger and Linda's (my brother and sister in law).

Out of Our Hands

We received our documents from Texas yesterday and I have Fed Exed everything to California to our agency.  This is our dossier and it will go to China.  The dossier is our file that tells China who were are.  Once it is mailed to China we are DTC (Dossier to China).  Then we have to get Logged in to their system and will be LID (Log in Date).  Then we wait to be matched.

We would appreciate it if you would pray for the right child for our family.  We know that God chose Sophie to be in our family but this time we have a little more say in this and we want to make the right decision.  Thank you!

This and That

Rick and Sophie picked up our Christmas tree today.  We picked it out a couple of weeks ago and just needed to get it cut down and bring it home.  It is up, mostly.  We have a few more decorations to put on it.

Our Fed Ex package was delivered today.  So we will wait to hear that it is on it's way back.  Hopefully, there is no problems.

Rick received a call today from Sophie's teacher today.  She has made so great improvements in the last few weeks.  Her behavior has improved.  She seems to be happy at school and is enjoying things they are doing.  Her reading has improved too.  She is reading at 2nd-3rd grade level, a few months ago she was a little above 1st grade level.  We are very thankful for the improvements she has made.  We just don't need to relax now.

Sophie tied for 3 place in the Chick Fli A calendar sales at school.  She brought home some coupons and other little goodies as a prize.

Fed Ex to Texas

Almost all our documents are on the way via Fed Ex to Texas.  They are going to a courier to take to the Chinese Consulate in Houston, Tx.  Hopefully we will have the documents back in a week.

Rick made two trips to Atlanta this week to get the state certifications on the documents.  The second trip was needed because Rick's birth certificate needed a "pen in hand signature" on it and it didn't have it.  He had to go to the vital statistics office and it was terrible.  He was there a very long time but he got it done.  He then headed back to the Secretary of the State's office and got the state's certification done.

He brought it to me and I handed it all off to the Fed Ex guy.

I almost forgot to mention.  We had problems with his birth certificate when we gathered our paperwork for Sophie.

Santa

Sophie got to see Santa today.

She didn't tell him what she wanted.

I told him not to worry, there is a list on the fireplace.
She was very giggly after seeing him. She kept saying he was so cute!
We watched the parade in Newnan and had a good time.
After seeing the Santa in the parade, Sophie knew he looked different than the Santa she saw earlier. She said can tell when it is the real Santa. He says Ho, Ho, Ho. The one in the parade looked different and he said Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho. Definitely not the "real" Santa! I had to listen to her say the Ho, Ho's and tell her which sounded right. It had to have 3 Ho's.
