Tooth #7

You know your little girl is turning in to a big girl when she loses a baby tooth next to the big front teeth.

Sophie wanted to know if the Tooth Fairy is real and do I put money under her pillow.  My answers...Yes, she put money under my pillow when I was little and lost my teeth.  And...Heck no, I am not giving you any money.  She responded with you give me money for ice cream.  I reminded her that she earns that money.

If you notice, she has a scratch under her left eye.  That is where she tried to take her eye out with a pencil tonight while doing homework.  I told her I didn't want her to have lead poisoning and Rick went on to explain to her about how she needs to be careful or she may end up with a glass eye.  Ok, so there may be a little over exaggeration on our end but we hope it helps her to be more cautious.

Now THIS is SWEET!!!

Taken April 2012

Guess who broke their foot today?

Rick had an accident today at work.  He broke his left foot.  He is suppose to be seeing an orthopedic doctor tomorrow.  Sophie was very cute waiting on him and trying to help him.  She then was showing us her bruise on her knee and got shampoo in her eye.  She needed her share of sympathy.

Moved to the Big Kids House

We heard today that Bubba has moved to the big kids house. The children's home he was living in had more babies to take in and it was time for him to move in with the big kids. I am told the children are up to 4 years old, he has adjusted well, and he is enjoying playing with the big kids. He will be there until we are in China and waiting to meet him. It gives us such peace to know he is well cared for and loved. We still can not wait to see him. His big sister is very excited and doesn't understand why we have to wait so long to go get him.

I have emailed with another mom of a child from the same home. It was very exciting to hear more about him and see some more pictures and videos.

We have settled on his middle name. We kept part of Sophie's Chinese name as her middle name and planned to do the same with our son. We decided to keep Yin Lin as his middle name. Now, about his first name...well that's another story or should I say debate.

I was told by Paula (one of our travel mates from our trip to get Sophie and her daughter, Clarice) yesterday that we needed to hurry and decide on his name or we will keep calling him Bubba when we get him. It is really easy to say and has really caught on with our family. Just to note Bubba is just a country name for brother or a big ole country boy. We think it's cute! We had a nickname for Sophie too before we agreed on her name. It just wasn't as catchy, Jamquita Sha Naynay.

Here he is! Our Bubba!

This is our son Zheng Yin Lin. We haven't agreed on his American name so we are still calling him Bubba.
